Clayton Williams
Clayton Williams, founder and owner of Sharp Old Goat, has a lifelong passion for fine blades. His father, grandfather, and great uncles introduced him to knives and sharpening. Several of them were craftsmen, hunters and fishermen who valued high-quality blades that were kept sharp.
Clayton believes he and the mountain goat are kindred spirits and chose the mountain goat as a symbol of his business that embodies independence, precision, and a drive to continuously grow spiritually and professionally.
With over 10 years of experience in fine dining, Clayton was most recently a chef at Urban Farmer Denver, a modern, farm-to-table steakhouse located in the Oxford Hotel. He honed his sharpening skills through on-the-job training and courses with renowned knife makers and sharpeners. A member of the Guild of Professional Sharpeners, Clayton’s attention to detail ensures exceptional results.
Clayton’s primary goal in life is to be helpful and useful to others–including family, friends, and customers–recognizing that everything valuable in his life is connected to people.
