Katsumoto Nakiri
This is a 190 mm Nakiri with a traditional wa-handle and black ferrule. The blade shows a well-developed patina from years of use, indicating high-carbon steel. The kanji 越前 (Echizen) suggests regional Echizen origin, while 勝本 (Katsumoto) likely refers to the smith or a forge brand. Production is almost certainly hand-forged, consistent with Echizen smithing practices. The grind is flat-sided with a strong rectangular profile, giving it the classic Nakiri chopping geometry.
