Senzo Ko-Deba
This 120mm ko-deba is a small but serious fish butcher’s tool, born out of Seki’s deep smithing heritage. Compact, stout, and precise, it was forged to handle delicate work on smaller fish where a full deba would be cumbersome. The maker’s kanji stamp ties it directly to the legacy of the Seki region, long regarded as one of Japan’s premier cutlery centers. Restored and sharpened, this piece brings back to life the quiet craft of a smith working in the postwar era when Japan’s regional knife workshops were flourishing.
